Welugu has always been a journey inward

Welugu has always been a journey inward, as much as it has been a journey outward.

When my husband and I co-founded Welugu, we were searching for meaningful ways to give back to the community. Our initial exploration led us to poverty alleviation under SDG-1, and we began our work in a remote village in India.

Along the way, my husband kept returning to a deeper question: Is coming out of Poverty sufficient to feel fulfilled in life?

That question stayed with me and opened a broader search. Through my exposure to Vedanta, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and deeper self-inquiry, my understanding began to evolve. We realized that true transformation goes beyond material needs; it must also touch purpose, awareness, inner growth, and Love.

Today, Welugu gives me the space to continuously test myself as I connect with more people on this journey, to reflect, recalibrate, and check in with who I am becoming, always striving to align with the best version of myself.
